THE NEW KING OF APALA

Is he truly the new apala king? .
After the demise of Aruna Ishola and Ayinla omowura, it seems apala followed them to the grave. Apala is a special traditional genre that is superior to fuji or juju but because there is no worthy ambassador to propagate apala it is relegated to a bottomless pit. The only known apala crooner is the son of the late maestro, Musiliu Aruna Ishola but is style is quite archaic and does not appeal to the younger generation coupled with the fact that he is over-shadowed by the larger than life image of his late father.  
Now a new king has risen, his name is Olumide Ajayi, popularly known as oluwe apala. He is the new kid on the block signed under back2black records. For the first time since the inception of apala he was able to infuse traditional apala with hip-hop successfully. At the moment his first single “Oluwe Mawe” enjoys massive airplay and His debut album titled “Happy Day” is out under the same label and he is gearing up to stun the entertainment industry with his soul inspiring lyrics.
